SUMMARY:Sustainable Mobility Innovation Course
DESCRIPTION:The University of Žilina (UNIZA) in collaboration with the InCITIES project partners are organizing the Sustainable Mobility Innovations course. The course is taking place between the 19th of February and the 26th of April 2024 with 9 weekly online modules and 1 week of on-site seminars. Upon completion of this course\, you will walk away with: \n\n\n\n\n\nPractical skills and strategies applicable to real-life urban mobility challenges\nAnalytical frameworks for critically thinking about mobility\, inclusion\, sustainability and resilience\nTools and methods for planning and assessing urban mobility innovations\nEffective communication and teamwork skills among experts\, stakeholders\, and peers\nAn invaluable experience and professional connections\nA certificate of competence from the University of Žilina\, a world-leading transportation science university\, equivalent to 3 ECTS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs the number of course students that can be accommodated is limited\, the registrations will be reviewed after the registration deadline and attendance confirmations will be sent to the selected participants. SUMMARY:EURegionsWeek Close-to-you - Moving beyond infrastructure: Co-designing inclusive mobility for sustainable regions
DESCRIPTION:This online Local Dialogue addresses the persistent challenge of making urban transport truly inclusive by shifting the focus from technical infrastructure to the people who use the system. Hosted by the Department of International Research Projects (ERAdiate+) at the University of Zilina (UNIZA) as a PIONEER Alliance initiative\, with the support of Laurea University of Applied Sciences (LAUREA)\, the event explores the social\, governance\, and behavioural dimensions of mobility\, areas often underrepresented in mainstream transport research. The session features perspectives from the regional innovation agency INOVIA as well as a real-world case study on school commute safety presented by the City of Trnava. This event is part of the EURegionsWeek Close-to-you programme of the European Week of Regions and Cities. \nAligned with the motto “Strong regions\, strong Europe”\, the session demonstrates how place-based solutions can tackle transport poverty and accessibility for vulnerable groups. \nThe 90-minute session is divided into two parts: \n\nPart 1\, Perspectives & Insights\, brings together academic and research perspectives from the University of Zilina and Laurea University of Applied Sciences\, regional innovation insights from INOVIA\, and a municipal case study on school safety presented by the City of Trnava.\nPart 2\, Dialogue & Co-Creation\, broadens participation further by actively involving students\, citizens\, speakers and local stakeholders in an interactive co-creation workshop and open debate. Overall\, the programme bridges the gap between academic evidence\, regional innovation and municipal policy.\n\nNo specific technical expertise is required\, and everyone’s perspective is welcome.
