SUMMARY:WW4WL Virtual café
DESCRIPTION:Virtual Café | Remote Work and Equal Pay: Can Flexible Work Help Reduce the Gender Pay Gap?\n\nFriday 25 September 2026 | 13:00–14:30 CEST | Online \nTo mark International Equal Pay Day\, the WinWin4WorkLife project invites you to an interactive Virtual Café exploring the links between remote work and gender equality. \nRemote work can offer greater flexibility and support work-life balance. But can it also help reduce the gender pay gap? Or could it reinforce existing inequalities through reduced professional visibility\, slower career progression or an unequal sharing of unpaid care work? \nDuring this Virtual Café\, WW4WL researchers Sarra Ben Yahmed and Theun Pieter van Tienoven will present a series of thought-provoking “conversation starters” inspired by the project’s first findings. Invited experts will respond to these questions and share their perspectives before the conversation is opened to the audience. \nInvited experts \n\nJorge Cabrita – Eurofound\, Working Life Unit\, Ireland\nThea Jansen – Gran Sasso Science Institute\, Italy\nMarina De Angelis – National Institute for Public Policy Analysis\, Italy\nHildegard Van Hove – Institute for Equality between Women and Men\, Belgium\n\nJoin us to discuss equal pay\, careers\, care responsibilities and the future of remote work. Participants will be invited to share their own experiences\, questions and perspectives. \nLink for registration and participation: https://events.teams.microsoft.com/event/e661d471-ba14-49d8-a473-0819e6a20359@487175ce-c313-4417-91bc-dc3b6721b8ee

SUMMARY:Moving beyond infrastructure: Co-designing inclusive mobility for sustainable regions
DESCRIPTION:This online Local Dialogue addresses the persistent challenge of making urban transport truly inclusive by shifting the focus from technical infrastructure to the people who use the system. Organised by the Department of International Research Projects\, ERAdiate+ of the University of Zilina\, member of the PIONEER Alliance\, in collaboration with the regional innovation agency INOVIA and LAUREA another member of the PIONEER Alliance\, the event explores the social\, governance\, and behavioural dimensions of mobility\, areas often underrepresented in mainstream transport research. This event is part of the EURegionsWeek Close-to-you programme of the European Week of Regions and Cities. \nAligned with the motto “Strong regions\, strong Europe” the session demonstrates how place-based solutions can tackle transport poverty and accessibility for vulnerable groups. \nFollowing the “Local Dialogue” format\, over 50% of the duration is dedicated to a lively\, open exchange with the audience. Participants will be invited to share their experiences\, views and ideas on what matters most for people-centred mobility\, such as safety\, reliability and inclusion. No specific expertise is required\, and everyone’s perspective is welcome. By involving citizens and stakeholders\, this event seeks to ensure that sustainable mobility transitions are both equitable and responsive to the real-world complexities of European regions. \nThe event schedule ensures representation of all key stakeholder groups throughout both the presentation and participatory parts of the Local Dialogue. Part 1\, Perspectives & Insights\, brings together university and research representatives\, two regional innovation actors\, two elected politicians one of which in the European Parliament\, reflecting regional and cross-border cooperation. Part 2\, Dialogue & Co-Creation\, broadens participation further by opening the discussion to students\, citizens\, speakers and other stakeholders bringing together a diverse and gender-balanced representation of local\, regional and European perspectives\, bridging the gap between academic evidence and regional policy. \nRegistration link
