SUMMARY:ERAdiate contributes to WIRE2017
DESCRIPTION:This year\, the Technical University of Košice (Slovakia) will host the 8th edition of the European Commission’s Week of Innovative Regions in Europe (WIRE) from 28th to 30th June 2017. This conference is supported by the Directorate-General Research & Innovation\, Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation Programme and is related to the 2017 Slovak EU Presidency. The Week of Innovative Regions in Europe (WIRE) is from 2010 main European policy forum for innovation and regional development. \nERAdiate co-organised the workshop on “Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation”. It is open to all\, especially to participants from widening countries. The workshop will explore how to create a widening community with existing tools and needs from researchers communities from widening countries in view of FP9. Examples from ongoing measures (ERA Chair\, Twinning\, Teaming and COST) debated during the widening session will also serve as a basis for the discussion. \nFor further information\, please visit the event website.

SUMMARY:Intelligent Transport Systems: a Tool or a Toy?
DESCRIPTION:International Conference \nIntelligent Transport Systems: a Tool or a Toy? \nResearch and innovation opportunities and challenges for autonomous driving and new transport models \n22. – 23. 11. 2016 \nŽilina\, hotel Holiday Inn \nThis conference was co-organised between \nCOST Association \nand \nUniversity of Zilina \nthe latter as European Research Area (ERA) Chair (ERAdiate project) on International Transport Systems (ITS)\, and is held under the auspices of the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union. \n  \n\n\nThe aim of this event was to bring special attention to the role of research organisations in providing evidence to the policy makers for shaping the right ecosystem in ITS\, and to the role of the industry\, and in particular small and medium enterprises (SMEs)\, in delivering innovative\, sustainable and interoperable solutions. Particular attention was given to two important pillars of future mobility: Autonomous driving and Mobility as a Service (MaaS). \nThis three-day conference took place in the context of a new legal framework (Directive 2010/40/EU) that was adopted by the European Union on 07 July 2010\, to accelerate the deployment of the ITS across Europe. \nAccording to the European Commission’s White Paper on Transport\, new forms of mobility have to be proposed for overcoming reliability\, environmental safety and affordability issues towards sustainable solutions for the transport of people and goods. Until now\, advancements in research and technology have significantly contributed to this recommendation by integrating multidisciplinary approaches\, and having addressed the fragmentation of knowledge in ITS. \nHowever\, the deployment of widely used interoperable and seamless ITS solutions is still lagging behind the expectations\, both in terms of their sustainability and competitiveness\, as well as integrating their socioeconomic impact at regional\, national and pan-European level. \nThe ERAdiate project is supported by the European Commission under FP7 Grant Agreement 621386. \n\nProgrammePresentationsPhotosDocuments\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n ITS Zilina - Programme\n \n 467.44 KB\n 14 downloads\n \n \n ...\n \n \n Download\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n ITS Zilina - Presentation 1\n \n Download\n \n \n \n \n \n 11 downloads35.86 MB\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n ITS Zilina - Presentation 2\n \n Download\n \n \n \n \n \n 12 downloads45.05 MB\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n ITS Zilina - Presentation 3\n \n Download\n \n \n \n \n \n 10 downloads33.68 MB\n\n\n\nPhotos \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n ITS Zilina - Final report\n \n Download\n \n \n \n \n \n 12 downloads571.68 KB\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n COST - H2020 Info Day\n \n Download\n \n \n \n \n \n 9 downloads182.73 KB\n\n\n  \n\nOrganisers\n \n\nPartner organisations\n \n\nSupporting organisations\n \n  \n\nMedia partners
