Tatiana Kováčiková, Head of the Department of International Research Projects – ERAdiate+ at the University of Žilina, participated in a strategic session organized by the Joint Research Centre within the framework of the TRA 2026 conference. The session focused on the TRIMIS project (Transport Research and Innovation Monitoring and Information System), which supports the implementation of transport policies by analysing all the major funding Framework Programmes, both at European Union and Member State levels, with impact on Transport and Mobility research and innovation.

The session brought together experts from academia, the European Commission, research organizations, and industry. Discussions focused on the main technological trends and challenges in electromobility, transport automation, urban air mobility, and the social dimensions of transport. Tatiana Kováčiková actively contributed particularly to the thematic block dedicated to transport automation and the development of Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM).

The discussions within TRA 2026 also addressed broader issues related to Europe’s competitiveness, the need for harmonized regulatory frameworks, and workforce preparation for the changing demands of automated transport. An important theme was also the integration of automation across different transport modes.

Tatiana Kováčiková’s participation in this strategic session confirms the active involvement of the University of Žilina in discussions on the future of intelligent mobility and transport research priorities. At the same time, the TRIMIS project represents an important tool for monitoring trends, identifying research needs, and supporting data-driven decision-making in European transport policy.
